Mike Pennel

I’m including Mike Pennel in here again this week since he was only present in 32% of the snaps last week. The Chiefs did well against the Ravens lethal rushing attack without Pennel being in there much and they’re going to need him to have the effect he had last year.

Pennel was coming off of a two-game suspension last week and he should be more a part of the defense this week. They’ll need him, especially since they’re facing another running quarterback this weekend and it’s doubtful they limit him as much as they did with Jackson in Baltimore.

Linebackers

Sticking with the defensive theme here, I have to say that I was really impressed with the linebackers’ performance on Monday night against the Ravens. It’s no secret that linebacker has been a position of weakness for Kansas City over the years, but they held their own in Week 3 and even looked pretty good.

The question now remains – Will they be able to keep that momentum against the Patriots? Sony Michel rushed for over 100 yards against the Raiders last week and has had some good games against the Chiefs in his young career.

If Anthony Hitchens, Ben Niemann, and Damien Wilson (where’s Willie Gay by the way?) can continue to play well, then the Chiefs honestly won’t have a single weakness on their roster and that’s scary for the other 31 teams in the NFL.
