The Kansas City Chiefs are 2-0 and while a 16-0 season would be nice, it’s not going to happen. When might the Chiefs drop their first game?

Kansas City Chiefs fans are used to the team starting the season strong. In the past three seasons, the Chiefs have gotten off to two 5-0 starts (2017 and 2018) and one 4-0 start (2019).

While Chiefs fans expect every game to result in a win, the team is going to lose eventually, so when might that first L of the season come for the defending Super Bowl champions?

Well, sorry Chiefs Kingdom, but it’s probably going to come soon, as the Chiefs face the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night and that’s going to be a tough game to win.

The Kansas City Chiefs very well could suffer their first loss in week 3.

The Chiefs and Ravens were the AFC’s two best teams a season ago and the Ravens actually had the better record, finishing the season at 14-2 and securing the top spot in the playoffs. Unfortunately for Baltimore, they were stunned at home by the Titans in the Divisional Round of the playoffs and that paved the way for the Chiefs to go on the run they did and win their first Super Bowl in 50 years.

Kansas City has a 2-0 advantage over the Ravens since Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson took over and two of Jackson’s three regular season losses have come against KC. Both of those games took place at Arrowhead too, so the Chiefs had the advantage for sure.

This time around, the game will take place in Baltimore and clearly the Ravens are going to be out for blood. Both squads are off to a 2-0 start to the season and the Ravens have looked dominant in both of their games so far, demolishing the Browns and Texans in back to back weeks.

The Chiefs curb stomped the Texans in week one, but barely got out of Los Angeles with a win over the Chargers and their rookie quarterback. Because of that ugly win, a lot of people are going to be down on the Chiefs heading into this huge match-up against the Ravens.

While the Chiefs will bounce back in week 3, the Baltimore Ravens sure look like the better team between the two so far and they’ll have added motivation to beat a team that’s had their number over the past two seasons.

If the Chiefs are able to get out of Baltimore with a win, falling to the Patriots in week 4 for their first loss of the season is also a possibility, as the Patriots have surprised people so far with their new look offense.

It’s worth mentioning that the Chiefs’ first loss of 2019 came against the Colts in the first game of the season and that’s not a game many expected them to lose. In other words, it’s entirely possible that the Chiefs beat the Ravens and the Patriots and then go on to suffer their first loss of the year to the Raiders in week 5.

Anything is possible in the NFL, but no one would be shocked if the Kansas City Chiefs lost their first game of the season this week.
