1. Farewell, Alex Gordon

News flowed in on Thursday morning that Alex Gordon would be calling it a career after 15 years with the organization. A former first round pick by the Royals in 2005 out of Nebraska, Gordon went on to become one of the all-time greats.

We’ll all remember the moment when Gordon crushed the game tying home run in Game 1 of the 2015 World Series and rounded the bases with his finger in the air. It was an iconic moment for all of us in Kansas City and Royals fans will always be grateful for Gordon.

This season hasn’t been a great one for Gordon, but it’ll be the final series for him in a Royals uniform. The Royals will most definitely let him start every game and hopefully he has a nice final series for his prestigious Major League career.

The final series of the 2020 season begins on Thursday night and while we didn’t get to see a full 162 game slate for this group, there was a lot to like in the 60 games we did see them for.
