Week 12 – Kansas City Chiefs at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Cullen)

Before this game, the Chiefs will have played for the first time ever in Las Vegas, Nevada, when they take on the Raiders. Then the Chiefs must travel across the country to the East coast for a game against a team whose competitive clock started ticking the moment they signed their new starting quarterback: Tom Brady.

The Chiefs’ cornerbacks will have their hands full in this game, trying to limit not only tight end Rob Gronkowski, who ended his retirement and joined his long-term quarterback in the move south, but also All-Pro wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

And don’t sleep on the Bucs’ other tight ends, O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate. Brady’s going to have a lot of weapons from which to choose, including the recently signed Leonard Fournette, who caught 76 passes for 522 yards last season with Jacksonville.

The Chiefs secondary will definitely need to earn their money this particular Sunday afternoon.

Prediction: The Chiefs play it tight, but due to a multitude of factors, including travel, they just can’t keep up with the Buccaneers, who win the shootout. The Kansas City Chiefs fall, 37-31.

Player to Pop: Despite the loss, the offensive line keeps Mahomes relatively clean, which is a feat considering the pass rush that Tampa Bay boasts with EDGEs Shaq Barrett and Jason Pierre-Paul. So let’s pour one out for Eric Fisher and Mitchell Schwartz, the team’s two starting tackles who rarely get the type of love they deserve. Kudos, gentlemen.

RECORD: 8-3
