Ranking Every Quarterback in 2020 – Number 9: Drew Lock

9. player. 45. . Quarterback. Denver Broncos. Drew Lock

Call me a Broncos hater all you want, but they don’t scare me in 2020 and beyond at all.

A lot of people point to Drew Lock as a potential MVP candidate this year (looking at you, Cowherd), but that’s a stretch. Lock played well during the course of his rookie season, leading the Broncos to a 4-1 record down the stretch and throwing for 1,020 yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions.

The one loss, by the way, was to Kansas City in the snow at Arrowhead Stadium and Lock did not play well against a good defense. Now that there’s more film on Lock, he’ll really have to step up his game in 2020 or a sophomore slump could most certainly occur.

The Broncos did do their part in trying to help their young quarterback by surrounding him with weapons including draft Jerry Jeudy in the first round of this year’s draft and also adding K.J. Hamler as well. They also picked up Lock’s teammate Albert Okwuegbunam to help out at the tight end spot.

Lock’s season could go one of two ways – He’s great and helps get the Broncos back to relevancy OR he has a disappointing sophomore season and is forgotten about when the final whistle blows in the 2020 season.

He’ll face the Chiefs in week seven in Denver and again in week 13 in Kansas City.
