Fantasy Football Sleepers to Target – Number 3: Raheem Mostert

Running Back. San Francisco 49ers. Raheem Mostert. 3. player. 42.

I have no idea why Raheem Mostert is being valued the way he is right now. San Francisco has given every indication it plans on using Mostert as its featured piece.

Look at their offseason moves. They shipped off Matt Brieda to the Dolphins. Mostert then requested a trade because he felt like he wasn’t being compensated fairly, and what did the 49ers do? They paid him more money.

Another thing to consider is that Kyle Shanahan is an offensive guru. Touches in his offense are more valuable than touches elsewhere. Mostert seems to be the guy that is going to take over the role as the main bell cow, so why is he being devalued the way he is in the fantasy football community?

The thing about Mostert is that he has proved he can do it. In the NFC Championship game last year, he exploded for 220 yards and four touchdowns. Average running backs don’t do that. The talent is there for Mostert, and he is now in an offense that is tailor made to his skill set.

Mostert’s ADP right now is RB28. That is way too low. At the very least, he should be a top 20 running back, and probably top 15 when it is all said and done.

Don’t overthink it. Don’t look for name power. The 49ers trust Mostert, and you should too.
