Fantasy Football Defenses/Special Teams to Target – Number 11: Chargers

Los Angeles Chargers. 11. player. 13. . D/ST. Los Angeles Chargers

After such a dominating season in 2018, the Chargers defense was taken high in most fantasy drafts last summer. They rewarded those who had faith in them by not performing very well, finishing dead last in the league in takeaways.

Derwin James was injured last year, which definitely hurt the Bolts in the takeaway department. They were also lacking in the sack department, which was interesting because of all of the talent they had there.

The 2020 season should see the Chargers D/ST get back to the top of the leaderboards. They added Linval Joseph and Chris Harris Jr. and selected Oklahoma Sooner Kenneth Murray in the first round in this year’s draft.

Throw in the unit Los Angeles already has (Joey Bosa, Melvin Ingram, and Casey Hayward to name a few) and the Chargers are a solid choice to have as your starting defense in 2020. Look to draft them in the eighth or ninth round or whenever a run on defenses begins.
