Now that we’ve taken a look at what each member of the KC Chiefs’ drafted rookie class could provide, let’s now explore what the UDFAs could provide, starting with Andre Baccellia.

Undrafted free agents have an uphill battle when it comes to making an NFL roster, but it’s not impossible by any means. Andre Baccellia is looking to make the Kansas City Chiefs 55-man roster in 2020 and if he does, what could he provide the team with as a rookie?

While it’s obvious that Baccellia isn’t a lock to make the roster, for the sake of this article, we’ll say that he’s either on the team or on the practice squad at least.

Baccellia spent his college career at Washington and as we know, went undrafted. He didn’t put up mind blowing numbers with his career high in receiving yards being 584 in 2018 and his career high in touchdowns being four, which he did this past season.

More from Kansas City Chiefs

Baccellia only had 28 receptions during his senior season with the Huskies and if we’re going off the stats alone, obviously he doesn’t seem like a huge playmaker.

The big thing with him and the main reason the Chiefs might be interested in giving him some kind of role on the offense (or on special teams) is the speed that Baccellia has.

"In a typical pre-draft process, Baccellia’s blazing 4.28 40-yard dash would have earned recognition and interest across the NFL. It was just one-hundredth of a second shy of the time that No. 12 overall draft pick Henry Ruggs III ran at the combine.Charles Goldman, Chiefs Wire"

We all know that the Kansas City Chiefs covet speedy players and Baccellia fits that mold perfectly. He wouldn’t be anywhere close to a starting wide receiver, but would probably have a role more like Byron Pringle‘s where he’s in games, but not on the field a ton. Maybe he’d be able to have a huge game like Pringle did this past season, but more than likely, Baccellia is the sixth wide receiver at best.

The Chiefs didn’t see any of their wide receivers depart this offseason and that will make things tougher for guys like Baccellia and the other UDFAs to make the roster. That being said, Baccellia has the speed that the Chiefs treasure in their skill players.

Do you think Andre Baccellia could make the KC Chiefs’ roster? If he does, what do you see his role being with the team?
