KC Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes included in top 25 under 25 not shocking
Patrick Mahomes is arguably the most fun player to watch in the NFL and it’s not a surprise that he earned the top spot on the top 25 players under 25 list compiled by CBS Sports.
Sean Wagner-McGrough put together a list of the 25 best players under the age of 25 and is anyone surprised to see KC Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes at number one? The answer is no – No one is surprised.
"The only right answer. Mahomes isn’t just the best player under the age of 25. He’s the best player in football. The 2018 regular season MVP and the MVP of Super Bowl LIV, Mahomes is capable of erasing a 24-point deficit in the span of a single quarter, and one of only two quarterbacks in NFL history to have thrown for 5,000-plus yards and 50-plus touchdowns in a single season. Mahomes is The Prince That Was Promised."
Yeah, this wasn’t even close.

Mahomes – with just two full years at the helm – has accomplished as much in his career as guys like Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, and other greats took years to accomplish. He did so after spending his rookie year on the sidelines and waiting patiently until his time came to drive the car.
Whenever the Chiefs are trailing, no one actually thinks they’re out of the game no matter how much they’re down by because of Mahomes. We all saw what he did in the three playoff games this past season and he’s already doing that at just age 24. Incredible.
The two players behind Mahomes on this list aren’t stunning either with Lamar Jackson coming in at second and Deshaun Watson placing third. It’s a quarterback driven league and these three are the hot young names at the sport’s most important position.
Mahomes was the only Chief to make this list, but that could definitely change in the coming years, as Clyde Edwards-Helaire should make his mark known and there are some promising defensive players who could make an appearance.
Mahomes has done some incredible things in just two full seasons as the starting quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, so of course he’s going to be at the top of this list. He’s already won a Super Bowl, an MVP title, and won the Super Bowl MVP as well. The guy is amazing and fans are obviously ecstatic to see what else the Texas Tech gunslinger is going to pull out of his bag of tricks.
The Kansas City Chiefs will continue to be Super Bowl favorites as long as Mahomes is the starter and that’s the best part of having a franchise quarterback. The Chiefs are always contenders as long as Patrick Mahomes is the starting quarterback.
