The Kansas City Chiefs are the reigning Super Bowl champions, but they’re going to repeat in the 2020 season and also not lose a single game. Might be a very bold prediction, but this team has the ability to go a perfect 19-0.

Last year, the Kansas City Chiefs went 12-4 and won the Super Bowl, but I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that they can, and will, do better in 2020.

There isn’t a single game on that gauntlet of a schedule that the Chiefs can’t vanquish. The Chiefs will tour the AFC East, NFC South and face two of the best AFC teams in the Texans and Ravens, but let’s start with the AFC East.

AFC East

The AFC East is currently playing Game of Thrones right now, and could see a changing of the guard this season. While the AFC East is still the Patriots’ to lose, they could be losing it sooner than some think.

The general consensus is that the Buffalo Bills are a team on the rise after a good draft and the addition of wide receiver Stefon Diggs and they may end up wrestling AFC East supremacy away from the Pats. There is no team in this division that the Chiefs cannot defeat including the surging Buffalo Bills. This should be an easy 4-0 sweep for the Kansas City Chiefs.

NFC South

The Saints are no joke and the Buccaneers improved this offseason. These games will be tough, especially since the Chiefs will be traveling to both those locations, but the Chiefs have the potential to take down both those southern powerhouses.

As for the Panthers and the Falcons, they will be traveling to Arrowhead, into the lion’s den, to play in front of the sea of red (or so we all hope) and should be no problem for the Chiefs to dispatch with ease. Yes, the Saints are a tough team, but the Chiefs are better than all four of these NFC South squads and should sweep this division.

AFC West

Nothing is changing in the AFC West. The Kansas City Chiefs have owned it the last four years and why should we expect that to change now?

Some might point to both the Raiders and Broncos adding top shelf first round receivers, which is clearly reactionary to what the Chiefs M.O. is, and is probably a step in the right direction, but will not be enough to knock the Chiefs off their throne.

The Chargers made some solid draft choices, but not enough to disrupt that well-oiled machine that is the Chiefs offense. The AFC West is held firmly in place by Chiefs Kingdom and that it is going to stay that way for the fifth consecutive year. This should be six easy wins for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Ravens and Texans

No doubt, the Ravens and Texans are both tough teams and will not be receiving any of my scorned or disrespect. The Texans will be out for blood, considering the last time they met the Chiefs, they had a 24-0 lead in the Divisional Round game over KC, only to have the rug pulled out from under them.

No doubt revenge will be on the minds of the Texans, but it will not be enough to overcome the Chiefs on opening night, right after they have hung their Super Bowl banner (hopefully). I just don’t see how the Texans stop the Chiefs.

No doubt, traveling to Baltimore to face the reigning league MVP and the Ravens will be a stout challenge, but the Chiefs have faced the Ravens twice in the last two years and won both matches. It’s worth noting that those games were both played at Arrowhead, but also both of those victories came with a Chiefs defense that wasn’t nearly as improved as they are now.

I predict the Chiefs wiping out both teams, they might break a sweat doing so, but it will get done.

Postseason

More from Kansas City Chiefs

At this point, the Kansas City Chiefs finished the year at 16-0 and obviously held the top spot in the playoffs, giving them the one seed and a first round bye.

I have no way of predicting who they will face in the Divisional Round and the AFC Championship, but it will probably be a team they have already faced in the regular season, one that we have already discussed at some length, like the Bills, Texans, Ravens or Pats.

As to who will be facing the Chiefs from across the field at Raymond James Stadium, I couldn’t say for certain, but it very well could be the Saints or 49ers for a rematch of Super Bowl 54. In any event, the Chiefs defense will be up to the task of slowing down either of those teams and the Chiefs offense is obviously more than capable of outscoring anyone.

In conclusion, the 2020 season will end with the Chiefs dominating the league once again, with a perfect 19-0 record, giving them their second straight Super Bowl title.

Perhaps I have lofty expectations for the Kansas City Chiefs, and perhaps I have written this article with my tongue firmly wedged in my cheek, but with Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, an always improving defense and an embarrassment of riches in the offense, I don’t believe there is any expectations that the 2020 Chiefs cannot meet.
