Chiefs News: How is Patrick Mahomes not in top ten jersey sales?
Chiefs news includes how in the heck Patrick Mahomes didn’t make the top ten in NFL jersey sales. How is that even possible?
The Kansas City Chiefs are reigning Super Bowl champions and their quarterback is both an MVP and Super Bowl MVP. Patrick Mahomes has taken the league by storm since he fully took over as the starter in 2018, but that wasn’t enough to get him in the top ten when it came to NFL jersey sales.
Instead, the list was owned by players who play in the state of Florida and Mahomes was nowhere to be found. Yes, there were some big moves this offseason with Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski landing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Dolphins drafting Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, but Mahomes and even Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson not being on this list is ridiculous.
Mahomes is only 24 years old and has a Super Bowl win, an MVP title, and a Super Bowl MVP notch on his belt. He’s the hottest name in the NFL right now, but his jersey didn’t make the cut.
A little over a month ago, Mahomes had surpassed Brady for the top spot in jersey sales. Brady – not to be outdone – switched teams so he could reclaim his spot (and for other reasons).

The Kansas City Chiefs are lucky to have Patrick Mahomes as their quarterback and at the end of the day, the jersey sales don’t matter. The Chiefs having the best player in the NFL is something that fans never thought would happen, so the fact that that’s reality now is all that matters for this team.
It’s still perplexing though that Mahomes didn’t crack this list and that Brady’s fifth highest selling jersey came above Mahomes’ best selling. Brady as a Buc and Tua being the high profile he already is – even just as a rookie – was enough to capture the top portion of this list.
