KC Chiefs News: Team favored in all but two games in 2020
KC Chiefs news consists of the 2020 schedule release and how the Kansas City Chiefs are only underdogs in two games according to the odds.
It’s no surprise that the Kansas City Chiefs are favored in all but two games, given that they’re the reigning Super Bowl champs and steamrolled over a lot of their competition in 2018 and 2019. With a Super Bowl title under their belt, the Chiefs begin their path to repeating this season.
Their schedule is favorable and their home slate in particular is pretty easy. Their toughest home game is against the Texans in the first game of the season, but otherwise it should be pretty easy at Arrowhead this season.
Per Pete Sweeney’s tweet below, the Chiefs are underdogs against the Ravens in week three and against the Saints in week 15. These are, without a doubt, the two toughest games on the team’s schedule in 2020, and with them both being road games, it’s not surprising to see the home team favored. But they aren’t favored by much.
Something I was surprised to see was how big of favorites the Chiefs were against the Texans in week one and against the Broncos in week 13. The Texans were a playoff team last year and were up 24-0 on KC in the Divisional Round until… Well, we all know what happened next. For them to be double digit underdogs against the Chiefs is insane.
No, the Broncos aren’t going to be anywhere near as good as Kansas City will be this year, but they have added good players and could at least make things interesting. Eleven points on the Chiefs at home against an improving Broncos team seems disrespectful.

Despite the Chiefs have some tough opponents on their schedule (Bucs, Bills to name a few), they’re only underdogs in two and even in those two games, they’re still just SLIGHT underdogs. They beat the Ravens last year pretty handily, but A) That was at home and B) The Ravens were nowhere near the team they became in the backend of the regular season.
Teams will be better than we thought and others will be worse than we thought, but for the Kansas City Chiefs to be big time favorites in almost all of their games is crazy.
