CHIEFS AT SAINTS – SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

I don’t care if it means the Chiefs get no other primetime games in 2020, this is one that HAS to be featured in primetime and it needs to be on Sunday Night Football. It’d pit the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs against the New Orleans Saints, who have come oh so close so many times over the past few seasons. They’ve kind of stumbled into the Chiefs’ crummy playoff history honestly.

This game would take place in New Orleans, but it’d be a fun one to watch for sure. Both teams have explosive offenses led by two of the best head coaches in the league. Both teams also have good defenses, so while on paper it looks like this would be a shootout, these two defenses would be able to hold their own for the most part.

The Saints reportedly wanted Mahomes in the 2017 NFL Draft and would have taken him had KC not traded up and nabbed him, so Saints fans could potentially be sad about that while this game is on (though Drew Brees is still one of the best in the game, even at age 41). That would be another storyline we’d have shoved down our throats for sure.

The last time the Chiefs and Saints played was in 2016 and KC won pretty handily at Arrowhead. A lot has changed since then, however, and with both of these teams being high up there in the Super Bowl odds, this one has to be a lock for Sunday Night Football. If it’s not, someone should get fired.
