Nigel Bradham, LB, Philadelphia Eagles

Nigel Bradham is a signing the Chiefs make almost every year – A decent linebacker looking for a new home from an NFC East team. They have signed Anthony Hitchens and Damien Wilson in consecutive years, and Bradham makes sense as the next linebacker to follow suit and come try to help a revitalized defense continue to improve to be one of the best in the league.

More from Chiefs Free Agency

While this may not be an exact need of the team, there is a small hole left behind by Reggie Ragland’s departure to the Detroit Lions. Bradham is not a direct replacement, as Ragland was more of a run thumper and Bradham is a better coverage linebacker.

Still, in today’s NFL, that is a good skill to have and could help the Chiefs if their offense builds a big lead and teams start throwing more later in games.

According to PFF, Bradham has received a grade of 73.0 or higher in coverage in three of the last four seasons. He is once again a solid, but not spectacular signing that the Chiefs could look at. That is okay. The Chiefs already have their spectacular players.

Right now they need to focus on adding solid veterans and one or two impact players in the draft.  Bradham fits the mold of the solid veteran, and would be a solid signing this free agency period.

Regardless of what the Kansas City Chiefs decide to do, they will make some moves in the second wave of free agency. It may be a guy on this list, it may not be, but either way, help is on the way regardless of how impactful it turns out to be.

Just trust in Brett Veach and what he does, because he has shown time and time again that he knows what he is doing when it comes to adding players.
