KC Chiefs news consists of the NFL players voting to approve the newly proposed CBA, which will add two more playoff teams and 17 game regular season amongst the biggest changes.

Three days before NFL free agency was set to begin, the players agreed to pass the new CBA. The biggest aspects of the new CBA consist of an expanded playoff field and also the addition of one more regular season game. It also includes an increased revenue share and benefits for the players.

If the playoff expansion had gone into effect this past season, the Kansas City Chiefs would have been forced to play on Wild Card weekend. They’d have hosted the Pittsburgh Steelers, who would have snuck into the playoffs as a seven seed, and while that probably would have been an easy win for the Chiefs, the point is that only one team receiving a bye week on each side will make it that much easier for that team to make it to the Super Bowl.

It’ll be interesting to see how the NFL puts in a 17th game. Will that game be played on a neutral field? Will teams rotate every other year with having nine home games one year and then eight the next? There are still a lot of questions to be answered regarding the added game.

"The Arizona Cardinals make sense as a trade partner for Jones’ services, and they have a few options that would entice Brett Veach and could make a deal happen."

The new playoff system is the biggest thing to take out of this approved CBA and we figured this proposal would be approved and this would be the new way of life in the NFL. The Kansas City Chiefs are likely going to be playoff contenders for years to come and an added team makes it easier for them to continue making the postseason.

On the other hand, however, it makes their climb to a Super Bowl even more difficult. Now getting the one seed will be even more crucial than it has been in years past because it’s the only way an AFC team won’t have to play three games to make the Super Bowl.
