Kansas City Chiefs: Tom Brady could potentially join AFC West in 2020
While the Kansas City Chiefs are riding high after a Super Bowl win, some teams have to make big changes heading into the 2020 season. One of the biggest storylines this offseason will be where Tom Brady ends up in 2020.
After two decades with the New England Patriots, there’s been a lot of talk recently about how Tom Brady might finish out his storied career with another team. While it definitely won’t be with the Kansas City Chiefs, he could potentially find himself in the same division as the Chiefs when it’s all said and done.
The first team in the AFC West who was linked to Brady was the Los Angeles Chargers, who just so happen to be in the market for a quarterback. They’ve seemingly parted ways with Philip Rivers and while it’d make sense for them to draft a quarterback in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, they could definitely use Brady in 2020.
The Chargers are a loaded team, there’s no debating that; They went 12-4 and won a playoff game in the 2018 season, but injuries took their toll in 2019. They were also hurt by Philip Rivers’ poor play and turnover proneness. Brady also grew up in California, so moving back to the west coast could make sense for him.

The big question I’d have as far as Brady going to the Chargers would be: Why? They’re a team without a real fan base (no one in Los Angeles cares about the Chargers) and without any real direction moving forward. It also wouldn’t make sense for them to bring in a quarterback who is older than the one they just got rid of.
The other AFC West team being linked to Touchdown Tommy is none other than the Las Vegas Raiders, who will make the move from Oakland to Las Vegas this year. What better way to put butts in the seats than to bring in one of the all-time greats at quarterback? The same could actually be said for the Chargers and their brand new stadium that they’ll share with the Rams in 2020.
To be perfectly honest – I don’t see Brady leaving New England and if he did, playing for the Raiders or Chargers doesn’t seem like a realistic option. Say he did join the AFC West though; It’d make for a fun two games every year, but it shouldn’t worry Chiefs fans whatsoever. They’ll still be the best team in the division for the next several years.
