For the first time in 50 years, the Kansas City Chiefs are finally playing in a Super Bowl! They’ll face off against the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday evening. Who did staff predict to hoist the Lombardi Trophy?

Kansas City Chiefs fans have gotten used to watching other teams participate in the Super Bowl, so this is a new feeling, being in the big game. It’s been an interesting week, but the consensus around town is confidence heading into Sunday’s game, which wouldn’t have been the case in years past.

With the Chiefs finally winning the AFC and advancing to the Super Bowl as a result, the playoff curses of the past are hopefully gone and Chiefs fans can relax a little bit on Sunday. Just a little bit though, it is the Super Bowl after all.

The biggest talking point of this game has without a doubt been Patrick Mahomes, who many analysts expect to be in this very same spot many more times throughout the course of his career. Along with Mahomes, Andy Reid has gotten a lot of love this week too because with a Super Bowl victory, he’d be a surefire Hall of Famer when he decides it’s time to walk away from coaching.

On the 49ers side, rookie Nick Bosa has gotten a lot of buzz leading up to Super Bowl LIV along with the entire Niners defensive line. The San Francisco d-line has been playing lights out nearly all season long and if anyone can slow down Pat Mahomes and the Chiefs offense, it’s the 49ers.

So, with the final game of the NFL season just hours away, who did staff predict to win the Super Bowl and be the world champions of football for the 2019 season?

  • Chris: Chiefs 31, 49ers 24

Well, there you have it folks – A unanimous prediction!

This should come as a surprise to no one considering this is a Kansas City blog and for the first time in five decades, our team is in the freaking Super Bowl. Darn right we’re confident!

Despite the confidence heading into Super Bowl LIV, everyone had this being a close game with the largest margin of victory being by seven points. The consensus all week long with this match-up has been that it’ll come down to the final play of the game and no one would be surprised if that ended up being the case.
