AN ENTIRE CITY’S PAIN IS ON MAHOMES’ SHOULDERS

While listening to Undisputed with Skip and Shannon, the topic being discussed was the amount of pressure on Patrick Mahomes to win this Super Bowl, and Skip made several good points. He stated among other things, that he has never seen such hype surrounding a quarterback before the Super Bowl, including all nine years that Brady and the Pats were in the big game.

More than that, however, the pressure on Mahomes to emerge victorious is huge.

“The 49ers can beat you with their run game. They can beat you with their suffocating defense, but the only way the Chiefs are winning this game is if Patrick Mahomes plays lights out.”

This is illustrated in a piece by our site expert Leigh Oleszczak where she discusses that the only reason the Chiefs are even favored in this game at all is because of Patrick Mahomes and what he brings to the offense.

As if the knowledge that he is the key to victory wasn’t enough pressure, Mahomes has put more pressure on himself, being determined to win the Super Bowl not only for head coach Andy Reid, but for the millions of Chiefs fans who have been waiting 50 years for such an opportunity.

While Skip highlighted in great detail the amount of pressure that rests upon the shoulders of the 24-year old quarterback, at the end of the segment, he said that if anyone can handle that pressure and deliver, it is #15 Patrick Mahomes.
