Number 1 – Get on Patrick Mahomes’ shoulders

The Kansas City Chiefs have the best player in this game. The 49ers may be the better all-around team; They are balanced with talent all-around, but time and time again, the best players decide history.

More from Kansas City Chiefs

Football, like so many other sports, is team-oriented. It requires all 11 guys to do their jobs. The only outlier in that equation is the quarterback. The quarterback, if good enough, can make plays happen out of thin air. Those plays usually determine the outcome of the Super Bowl.

These two teams are very evenly matched. If the Chiefs can avoid giving up close to 300 yards on the ground, the game should be close. If the game comes down to the wire, most money will be on Patrick Mahomes, as it should be.

Until he proves us otherwise, the best player in the NFL should be leaned on to the fullest extent. His talent is unparalleled, his love for the game unquestioned, and his desire to win is unprecedented. He is never out of a game, (unless he doesn’t see the field in overtime).

It’s been long overdue for old and young Chiefs fans alike. The best chance at witnessing history is relying on the 24-year-old gunslinger from Texas Tech, who has the heart of a champion even if he doesn’t have the accolades to match it yet. This could be the start of a big trophy case for him and the franchise.

Buckle up, it should be fun.
