The KC Chiefs host the Houston Texans this weekend in the Divisional Round of the playoffs and there appears to be a possibility that Will Fuller could suit up for the Texans. If so, he’ll be the x-factor against this defense.

If you’ve been listening to Kansas City sports talk this week, there’s a good chance you’ve heard all about how Texans wide receiver Will Fuller will be the difference against the Kansas City Chiefs when the two teams meet up in the divisional round. As of now, Fuller is a game-time decision for Sunday afternoon’s game, slated to kick off at 2:05 PM central time.

Fuller has been hit and miss since the Texans took him in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, but most of that is due to injuries. When Fuller is healthy and on the field, Houston’s offense is a lot more explosive because it gives them an added element over the top.

The Texans went 8-3 in the regular season when Fuller suited up in those games and while he didn’t crush the Chiefs back in week six (five catches for 44 yards), there have been games where the guy has absolutely proven he can take over on offense (week five vs the Falcons he had 14 catches for 217 yards and three touchdowns).

The Chiefs defense improved down the stretch, but they’d have their hands full if they had to account for Fuller on Sunday.

The reason Fuller is so important for the Texans is because it gives them another element to their offense. When he’s out there, teams can no longer double team DeAndre Hopkins, who otherwise is likely going to be the one Deshaun Watson is throwing to because he’s the best weapon on the field.

When Fuller is on the field, it not only gives Watson the added option of throwing to another receiver, but it also opens things up for Hopkins and Kenny Stills as well. Like I mentioned above, the Chiefs defense has improved, especially in the secondary, but if Will Fuller plays in this game, I’d be a little more concerned about them.

Juan Thornhill is out for the playoffs and the Chiefs haven’t really had to play a team with multiple legitimate stars at receiver over the last month of the season. The Texans will try to spread the ball around and Fuller is yet another added weapon for Watson come Sunday.

I still think the KC Chiefs will win this game, but if Will Fuller is good to go, he could potentially be problematic for this improved Chiefs defense.

What do you think, Chiefs fans? Should fans be worried about Fuller on Sunday?
