The 2019 regular season has come to an end and the playoff standings are set! Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know the standings, but let’s take a look regardless.

It was an exciting weekend of football and the NFL playoffs are now set! As you all know by now, the Kansas City Chiefs earned a bye week and will not play this upcoming weekend. Let’s take a look at the final standings and discuss who WILL play this weekend, starting with the AFC.

  1. Baltimore Ravens (14-2) – BYE
  2. Kansas City Chiefs (12-4) – BYE
  3. New England Patriots (12-4)
  4. Houston Texans (10-6)
  5. Buffalo Bills (10-6)
  6. Tennessee Titans (9-7)

The biggest results from last weekend was the Patriots falling to the Dolphins, propelling the Chiefs into the two seed and forcing New England to play on Wild Card weekend for the first time since the 2009 season where they were blown out by Baltimore. Chiefs fans were ecstatic to see the Patriots fall flat on their faces because it gave them next weekend off.

More from Kansas City Chiefs

The AFC Wild Card games will pit the Patriots and Titans against each other in one match and the Texans and Bills in the other. If teams play to their seeds, which isn’t always the case, the Chiefs would host the Patriots and the Ravens would host the Texans in the Divisional Round. Don’t be shocked if one, if not both, of the Wild Card teams can pull of an upset and make an appearance in the divisional games.

Now, we’ll move onto the NFC, where things were spicy up until the bitter end.

  1. San Francisco 49ers (13-3) – BYE
  2. Green Bay Packers (13-3) – BYE
  3. New Orleans Saints (13-3)
  4. Philadelphia Eagles (9-7)
  5. Seattle Seahawks (11-5)
  6. Minneota Vikings (10-6)

The 49ers and Seahawks battled for the NFC West title on Sunday night and fittingly enough, it came down to the final seconds. San Francisco won, giving them home field in the playoffs and sending the Seahawks to Philadelphia for one of the Wild Card games.

The other one will be the Saints vs Vikings in New Orleans, and it’s crazy that the Saints have to play in a Wild Card game at 13-3. Also, why is no one talking about the Packers? They might be the quietest two seed in recent playoff history.

While I expect the Saints to win their game and send the Vikings home, the Seahawks should be able to beat the Eagles in Philly. Stranger things have happened though.

I’m really excited for the Wild Card games this weekend and even more excited that the Kansas City Chiefs don’t have to take part in it this year. Who do you predict will win each game?
