HERE’S THE CASE

It’s hard to come any closer to a Super Bowl than the Kansas City Chiefs did last year, losing to the Patriots by an offsides penalty. Kansas City has unfinished business to take care of. The offense is rounding into 2018 shape and the defense is clicking on all cylinders for the first time since Derrick Johnson was leading the group.

More from Kansas City Chiefs

It all seems to be trending up for Kansas City. With history against them, this year’s Chiefs team has the chance to do something special. There will be bad calls, injuries, seeding changes, and bad clock management by Andy Reid, but the 2019 Kansas City Chiefs have the best shot at a Super Bowl run in half a century.

The narrative may be in their favor, fate could be leaning toward them, and they look like their getting hot at the right time, but there’s one main reason for this conclusion. Patrick Mahomes is one of the best talent’s the league has ever seen and there’s no reason to bet against him being one of the best quarterbacks to ever lace them up. His legacy and a new Chiefs history starts this year.
