After a very tough loss last week, the Kansas City Chiefs will fly into Mexico City looking to bounce back in a huge game against the Chargers.

Heading into this week, the Kansas City Chiefs currently hold the lead in the AFC West by just one game. The Raiders are nipping at Kansas City’s heals and will be gifted an automatic win this week against a very bad Bengals team.

That means that heading into their game on Monday Night Football, the Chiefs and the Raiders will be tied for first in the AFC West (of course, the Chiefs do hold the tiebreaker currently), so if the Chiefs lose to the Chargers they will fall to second in the division.

Madden has been very consistent in two areas throughout their predictions this season. The first is their love for Sammy Watkins. If Watkins is playing, there’s a pretty good chance he is going to score multiple times in the Madden sim (which we all know isn’t accurate after watching him not score since the season opener).

Their second area of consistency that is even more off the wall is their Mahomes predictions. Madden has been very good at undershooting their predicted stats for Mahomes.

Last week they projected him to throw for 220 yards and (spoiler alert!) they’re predicting him to pass for even less this week. When healthy, Mahomes has just one game of fewer than 300 yards passing and last week Mahomes doubled his Madden predicted passing yards.

So now that a piece of this week’s predictions has already been spoiled for you, let’s take a look at the results from the Madden simulation this week.

FINAL SCORE – CHIEFS 28, Chargers 25

CHIEFS STATS

TITANS STATS

Madden gives the Chiefs the edge in this one in what will be a huge win for them. A week 11 win would all but eliminate the Chargers from AFC West contention and allow the Chiefs to remain at the top of the conference.

As mentioned earlier, one of the biggest takeaways from the Madden sim is the low passing yards total for Mahomes. Mahomes is throwing for 300+ in 85% (6/7) of his healthy games this season, so it is hard to see him throwing for less than 300 let alone barely getting to 200 yards.

Another interesting observation from the sim is the zero sack total from both teams. The Chiefs are a little banged up on the defensive line, but this would still be a shocker to see them come away with zero sacks, especially with how much that Chargers o-line has struggled.

It would, however, be a very pleasant site to see Mahomes go the whole game without taking a hit from any Chargers players. His offensive line has been injured a lot too, as we all know.

All in all, there were some weird predictions in the sim, but a win is a win and Chiefs Kingdom would take it however it comes.
