SACK NATION

Despite not having top pass rushers Chris Jones and Frank Clark, Sack Nation is coming out in full force. The sudden burst of pass rush has boosted the Chiefs defense into the top five in team sacks for the season.

Over the past two games, the Chiefs pass rush has turned into a nightmare for opposing offensive lines. In just a matter of two weeks, the Chiefs defense has recorded a total of 14 sacks and 22 quarterback hits.

During the first six weeks of the season, the Chiefs were slacking in the pass rush category. Early on, they only accounted for 11 sacks and 25 quarterback hits.

While the Vikings have only given up a total of 15 sacks this season, it is worth noting that quarterback Kirk Cousins is the top ranked quarterback in the time to throw category per NextGenStats*. This should allow the Chiefs defense more time to get into the backfield and disrupt passing plays.

*Time to Throw (ToT): Time to Throw measures the average amount of time elapsed from the time of snap to throw on every pass attempt for a passer (sacks excluded). (NextGenStats)
