START ‘EM FOR WEEK EIGHT

Terry McLaurin, WR, Washington Redskins

Scary Terry McLaurin had a tough week last week, and while you may be “scared” off of him due to just one catch last week, that would be the wrong decision. Last week, as I’ve already mentioned, saw terrible conditions in D.C. and McLaurin was going against a very good 49ers defense. The Redskins will be playing catch-up and while Xavier Rhodes is not a good matchup, I believe in McLaurin’s opportunity and talent.

Vikings Defense/Special Teams

The Redskins are coming fresh off a zero on the scoreboard against a good 49ers defense. Case Keenum had a grand total of of 77 yards passing. This week, the Vikings aren’t much worse than the 49ers defense and it could get ugly. Start the Vikes D/ST as a sure-fire option this week.

Wendell Smallwood, RB, Washington Redskins

This may be a desperation play this week if you’re short a running back, but Wendell Smallwood is going to have a decent-size role in this offense until Thompson or Guice comes back. If the Vikings get up big, Smallwood will get a lot of snaps and could definitely catch a lot of balls. This is more of a sleeper pick, but start him over Peterson for sure.

Alexander Mattison, RB, Minnesota Vikings

Alexander Mattison should get some run this week and he will need to take advantage of his touches, but he should do that quite easily. I could see a touchdown and ten carries for him this week while Minnesota tries to kill clock in the fourth quarter.
