KC Chiefs: AFC West is confusing six weeks into 2019 season

The AFC West has been won by the KC Chiefs the last three years and while they should still win the division in 2019, it’s been a rollercoaster for the AFC West six weeks into the season.
After the first month of the 2019 season, the Kansas City Chiefs were 4-0 and looked as if they were going to run away with the AFC West and win their fourth straight division title. Well, two weeks later, and the Chiefs are 0-2 during that time and they haven’t necessarily showed that they’re the best team in the division.
As of now, here are the standings in the AFC West.
Kansas City Chiefs (4-2)
Oakland Raiders (3-2)
Denver Broncos (2-4)
Los Angeles Chargers (2-4)

The most shocking of all of those is clearly the Chargers being 2-4 after six games. They’ve already matched their loss total from all of last season and look far from being the team that went 12-4 a year ago and took the Chiefs down to the final week of the season when it came to who would win the division.
The Raiders have been surprising, sure, but no one is really sure what to think of them. They beat a good Bears defense last week in London, but got destroyed by the Vikings a few weeks before that. That being said, they have the same amount of losses as the Chiefs, so maybe we shouldn’t sleep on the Raiders (even though one of those losses came to KC).
The Broncos, who the Chiefs play this Thursday night, have been the opposite of Kansas City. They were winless to start the year, going 0-4 and looking pitiful. Since then, they’ve gone 2-0 and while they’ve looked solid, they beaten the Chargers (who we know aren’t very good now) and the Titans (the most mediocre team there is).
It’ll be interesting to see what happens in that Denver/Kansas City game on Thursday night. If the Broncos somehow pull that one off, they’d be just one game behind the Chiefs in the standings and Chiefs fans would be in full blown panic mode.
While the past two weeks have been frustrating for Chiefs Kingdom, let’s not freak out just yet. It’s been two bad weeks, but injuries have taken their toll on this team and we know the Chiefs are still – without question – the best team in the AFC West. They don’t need to beat the Broncos to prove that to us, but it’d certainly allow the fans to breathe a sigh of relief after two bad losses.
