The Chiefs need to switch gears and load up for the long haul as their run is just beginning.

More from Kansas City Chiefs

Again, basically, there is no player in the NFL outside of a quarterback worth two first round picks, especially when you then have to turn around and pay them a monster contract. In fact, spotrac.com values Jalen Ramsey  on a contract extension at just under $17 million per year on a new deal.

Sometimes, the bets course of action is simply to work on getting better with what you have and looking to make the big improvements in the offseason and free agency, where you don’t have to surrender draft picks to spend big money, you just have to spend money.

The Kansas City Chiefs are at the opening, the beginning rather, of their Super Bowl window. This is not the end, not one last ditch hurrah.

It doesn’t make sense to mortgage the very future this organization has built in some half baked attempt to overtake a really good Patriots team now.
