These aren’t your old Chiefs

In years past, even under Andy Reid, a close game like this is a loss.

With Patrick Mahomes at quarterback, games like these just feel different. When the Lions scored with 2:26 left in the game, it didn’t feel like the Chiefs were out of it. Even on the Hail Mary attempts, it just felt like things were going to go the Chiefs way.

Patrick Mahomes and the offense didn’t play well except when it mattered the most. With all due respect to Alex Smith, this is a loss eight out of ten times with him at quarterback.

This is a team that was smacked around and still got the W. Lessons were learned and you better believe Andy Reid is going to let them know this.

Officials got it right

For all the crap we give officials for missed calls, they finally got something right. The Lions were driving and got down near the goal line and thought they had punched it in. Next thing you know, Chiefs cornerback Brashaud Breeland is running the other way to the end zone.

The Lions thought it was blown dead, but the officials let it play out and reviewed it; It would be ruled a Chiefs touchdown. This was something fans had been clamoring for a long time. With turnovers and scoring play being reviewed, why not let it go and review it to get it right?

It isn’t going to hurt anything and it gets the officials in the good graces of critics for a little while, present company included.
