CAN THE BLACKSHIRTS SLOW DOWN THE BUCKEYES?

According to ESPN, Ohio State is averaging 53.5 points per game through their first four games of the season. It’s worth noting that only one of those wins came against a Power-5 school, which was two weeks ago against Indiana. The Buckeyes pummeled IU 51-10.

Nebraska’s defense has improved and we’ve seen flashes of that sentiment. On the contrary, their defense still has some rough patches and that was on full display in Champaign last weekend, as the defense allowed Illinois to hang around in that game and almost win it, had the offense not been in comeback mode.

Ohio State is equally good through the air and on the ground and that’s something Nebraska needs to be prepared for. It’s easier to plan on stopping one, but to stop two aggressive attacks is something Nebraska hasn’t really had to prep for quite yet.

Even though the Huskers are probably the best defense OSU has played to this point, we’ve seen enough holes in this defense to question if the Blackshirts can hold their own against that ferocious Buckeye offense.
