Kansas City Chiefs: Five players who helped beat Raiders in week two
The Kansas City Chiefs are 2-0 and sit atop the AFC West after knocking off the Oakland Raiders by a score of 28-10. Here are the five players who helped the Chiefs win that game.
Heading into this game against the Oakland Raiders, there was some worry that maybe Kansas City Chiefs fans had underestimated the 2019 Raiders and the talent they had.
In the first quarter, that sure looked to be the case, as the black and silver stormed down the field on back to back drives and put up ten points as a result. They also had managed to shut out the Chiefs, making it 10-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Well, then as we all know, things changed and the momentum shifted. The second quarter was the Kansas City show and all of the Raiders fans in that stadium had to have been deflated after seeing their team go from ten points up to 18 points down in the span of 15-20 minutes.

Which members of the Chiefs were the biggest names in this victory? Let’s take a looky loo.
MECOLE HARDMAN
Chiefs fans were bummed not to see much out of the second round rookie last week, but Mecole Hardman more than made up for it in his second ever NFL game. The Georgia product totaled four receptions for 61 yards and a touchdown and should have had a second touchdown, but a penalty wiped it out.
BASHAUD BREELAND
The new Chief has quietly been a good signing early on in his KC tenure, notching eight tackles (seven solo) and picking off Derek Carr in the end zone on Sunday. He also had one pass defended against the silver and black.
KENDALL FULLER
Yes, the touchdown to Tyrell Williams was against Kendall Fuller, but he ended up having a good game after the fact, limiting Williams to just five catches for 46 yards and the aforementioned touchdown. He also recorded a sack on Carr.
PATRICK MAHOMES
I can’t have one of these lists without listing Patrick Mahomes, right? After a wobbly first quarter where Chiefs fans wondered if he was feeling all right on his hurt ankle, Mahomes ended the afternoon throwing for 443 yards and four touchdowns. Is there anything this guy can’t do?
DEMARCUS ROBINSON
Last, but not least, we come to Demarcus Robinson, who put on an absolute show in the Black Hole against the Raiders. Oakland was clearly game planning to take Sammy Watkins out of the game and they accomplished that, but they also forgot about Robinson. The fourth round pick went on to compile six catches for 172 yards and two touchdowns. Welcome to the show, D-Rob!
It was great to see the Kansas City Chiefs rebound after a miserable first quarter and while these five guys couldn’t have done it without the rest of their teammates, they were the standouts from week two’s victory over the Raiders.
