The KC Chiefs defeated the Oakland Raiders in the Black Hole, the final time they’d be playing there, to the tune of 28-10. It was an explosive second quarter that decided the game.

Well, Tony Romo said it best when describing how the Kansas City Chiefs looked in this game. You can see the tweet below for the actual video of what was said, but Romo stated that the Chiefs looked like they were playing Madden. They went on to roll the Raiders 28-10 with all 28 points coming in the second quarter.

Things didn’t get off to a great start, as the Chiefs failed to score in the first quarter for the first time in 22 games. The defense also looked pretty bad early on, allowing an early field goal by the Raiders and later a touchdown to make it 10-0.

Panic might have started to set in amongst Chiefs Kingdom, but the Raiders wouldn’t lead again for the rest of the game and those ten points would be all the black and silver would put up in this game.

The KC Chiefs truly did look like a video game in this match-up in the Black Hole. Patrick Mahomes is a freak of an athlete, throwing for over 400 yards and four touchdowns with all four touchdowns coming in the second quarter.

More from Kansas City Chiefs

Tyreek Hill didn’t play, as we all know due to an injury he sustained last week in Jacksonville, but it didn’t matter because it was the Demarcus Robinson show on Sunday. Robinson hauled in six catches for 172 yards and found the end zone twice.

Rookie Mecole Hardman also came to play, grabbing four receptions for 61 yards and his first NFL touchdown. He actually had a second touchdown, but it was called back due to holding by LeSean McCoy.

The defense settled in after their rough first quarter, not allowing Oakland to do much of anything after that. They picked off Derek Carr twice (once by Bashaud Breeland and the other by Charvarius Ward) while sacking the Raiders eyeliner wearing quarterback three times. Chris Jones, Tanoh Kpassagnon, and Kendall Fuller had the three sacks.

The Chiefs run game was nowhere to be found, but does that really matter in today’s NFL? At some point, yes it will matter, but it didn’t on Sunday.

The offense was also shut out in the second half, but with an 18-point lead that didn’t really bother me much. If things had been tighter, the play calling likely would have been different for Kansas City.

Considering that Eric Fisher didn’t play in this game, the offensive line could have been much worse. They allowed two sacks on Mahomes, but that seems respectable with Fisher out. Cameron Erving didn’t look terrible.

All in all, this was a great game for the Chiefs and they’re now alone at the top of the AFC West at 2-0.
