These are all reasons why the Oakland Raiders could pull off the upset on Sunday, but for what it’s worth, I do have the Kansas City Chiefs winning this game.

It’s possible to list reasons why the Chiefs could lose and not necessarily think they’ll lose. The bottom line here is the Chiefs are the more talented team and they absolutely SHOULD win this football game.

All of the reasons listed above, however, could play a factor in why the Chiefs have an early slip-up against a division rival. It’ll be the final time these two teams meet in the Black Hole and that will mean a lot to the Raiders and to the fans who come out to watch the two sides play on Sunday.

Fortunately for Chiefs Kingdom, they have Patrick Mahomes at the helm and he looked as good as advertised in week one. Yes, he got nicked up a little bit, but he appears to be fine moving forward.

I asked Fried about the Raiders losing Johnathan Abrams for the season and who might step up for the black and silver in his place this weekend and here’s what he had to say.

JG: Losing Johnathan Abram is a huge loss to a Raiders secondary that was looking very promising. Karl Joseph will remain a starter at one of the safety spots while veteran Curtis Riley — who does have starting experience with the New York Giants — will fill Abram’s role. That said, no one will be able to match Abram’s energy and work ethic. As for Conley, it looks as though the Raiders dodged a major bullet as it’s actually expected that he will be able to play this Sunday. Conley came on strong last season and the Raiders have high hopes for him this season.”

Thanks again to Justin Fried for taking the time to answer my questions! Check out some of his work over at Golden Gate Sports, especially prior to this Chiefs vs Raiders game.

Go Chiefs!
