As of now, there are three teams sitting with 1-0 records and enjoying life atop the AFC West for now; Those teams are the Chiefs, Chargers, and Raiders.

There will be at least one team in the AFC sitting undefeated after week two, as the Chiefs and Raiders face each other this Sunday afternoon. The winner of that game will be 2-0 and at the top of the division. The Chargers could also move to 2-0, so there might be two undefeated teams in the division after Sunday’s games conclude.

The Chiefs and Chargers looked like the two best teams in the division, but the Raiders did show some spunk on Monday night. Yes, they were playing the Broncos, but that was a game that Denver was favored in. If Oakland somehow finds a way to beat the Chiefs, that’d really turn the AFC West on its head early on in the season. Hopefully that doesn’t actually happen though.

The AFC West should be an interesting division to watch this year and these early season games will teach us a lot about these four teams.

There will be one AFC West match-up in week two and, as mentioned previously, it’s the KC Chiefs vs the Oakland Raiders. Chiefs vs Raiders is always an intense battle, but it’d be great if the Chiefs could hand Oakland their first L of the season!

What takeaways did you have from the AFC West in week one?
