Kansas City Royals: 2020 free agent options, Part II: Batters
By Cullen Jekel
The Kansas City Royals seemingly have quite a few roster spots locked up for the 2020 season, but the organization will definitely look toward the open market for some upgrades.
More than likely, those upgrades will be minor as the team looks to continue developing its young players at the Major League level as the team gears up for a run in 2021. Be on the lookout for what players end up getting non-tendered by other teams as Dayton Moore has shown an odd affinity for signing such players regardless of past results, like Chris Owings and Billy Hamilton just this year.
But it’s fun to hope, and it’s even more fun to dream of one’s team making a huge splash that ends up paying dividends down the line. With that in mind, here’s a look at my starting everyday nine I’d like to see for the 2020 Royals:

The Kansas City Royals organization is about to embark on a very important offseason under a new owner. What Sherman allows his front office to do starting in November will not only help determine how this team fares in 2020, but also 2021 and beyond.
It is, without a doubt, an important winter.
No pressure, Sherman.
