Despite losing to the Wyoming Cowboys, the Missouri Tigers still have a legitimate shot at a solid season. But for that to happen, they must beat the West Virginia Mountaineers on Saturday.

More from Missouri Tigers

The three things I listed to watch aren’t necessarily keys to winning this ballgame. Kelly Bryant lit it up against Wyoming, though I’m sure he’d take lesser numbers for a win on any day. But if he throws for those type of numbers this weekend, Mizzou probably–probably–wins.

Keep an eye on how the Tigers look at the start of this game. Let’s hope that Odom gets them back to having swagger after the upset loss. And keep an eye out on how the Tigers play throughout the game. A more even game from first through fourth quarters will go a long way for a victory.

But the most important thing is the battle in the trenches. Both lines need to improve, and quickly. Someone needs to step it up on the pass rush. And the offensive line and running backs need to perform better to keep the pressure off Bryant.

If those three things happen, then the Tigers should improve to 1-1. And a win against a Big 12 opponent is nothing at which to sneeze. Hopefully it sparks a winning streak akin to last year’s four-game streak after the loss to Kentucky.
