NUMBER 8 – LAMAR JACKSON

Lamar Jackson doesn’t feel like he should be this low on the list due to how he ran all over teams last year, but the guy can’t be relied on to throw consistently. That limits his game quite a bit and makes him one-dimensional.

Running with the ball has always been Jackson’s speciality, but when it comes to passing, he’s not the same player. He only threw for 147 yards against KC last year, but added two touchdowns to that total. His total numbers for 2018 were 1,201 passing yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions while rushing for 695 yards and five scores.

If the Chiefs can contain Jackson in the run game and force him to throw the ball, he’s a lot less scary. Look at what the Chargers defense did to him in the playoff game this past January. They shut him down in the run game and embarrassed him all day long. It wasn’t pretty.

The hype died down on Jackson after that game and honestly – it’s difficult to have a quarterback rely solely on his rushing abilities in today’s NFL due to the injuries that stack up. Jackson was banged up at the end of the Chiefs/Ravens game last year and that could have been what cost the Ravens that W.

Yes, Lamar Jackson is fun to watch, but he is lower on the list when it comes to scary quarterbacks in the NFL.
