This season, similar to many, has a variety of outcomes. Ultimately though, there are far many good outcomes than bad if we put this season into a theoretical simulator. The defense could stay the same as last year, but if the offense stays the same, it will always give them a chance.
What if Mahomes takes a, “gulp”, leap? But what if the defense turns out to be better than last year’s and the offense improves? Odds are these team will compete at the highest level like last season. The key will be winning the division and staying healthy.
Home field advantage is enormous, and a first-round bye in the playoffs would be even more impactful. Much will depend on the annual Andy Reid choke superstition and if he’s content with winning another eleven regular season games. But, most likely, the Chiefs will have to go through the Patriots to reach this bold prediction.
