Future 2020 Season

The Kansas City Royals could end 2019 with near .500 record for the month of September with a remaining schedule and the return of key contributors. The 8/31/19 addition of power hitting first base prospect Ryan McBroom for cash considerations could be a steal for the Royals looking for production at First Base.

A favorable schedule to start the 2020 season presents the Royals with several winnable series early. The 2020 KC Royals could start end the month of April with a winning record.

Positional talent, speed, and defense suggest the 2020 team is capable of a 75-win season if the pitching is somewhat competent. The bullpen needs to be addressed this off-season whether in house with the development of Josh Stautmont (RHP), Richard Lovelady (LHP), and Kyle Zimmer (RHP) or via low-risk, high reward free agent signings.

Brad Keller (RHP), Danny Duffy (LHP), Mike Montgomery (LHP), and Jakob Junis (RHP) when healthy present the beginnings of a competent starting staff. The wave of pitching prospects should start to trickle into Kansas City by late 2020 (Daniel Lynch (LHP), Brady Singer (RHP), Jackson Kowar (RHP), Kris Bubic (LHP), and Jonathan Bowlan (RHP)).
