The final preseason game of 2019 has arrived for the KC Chiefs and it’ll take place in Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers. Who should Chiefs fans be keeping an eye on in the final preseason game?

Normally the Kansas City Chiefs don’t play a team in preseason if that team is on their regular season schedule, but that’s not the case this year, as they’ll play the Green Bay Packers this week and in week eight of the regular season.

Of course, the biggest takeaway from that is that the starters won’t play this week (at least most of them won’t), as it’s the week before the regular season begins and teams want to avoid injuries at all costs.

So, that means it’ll be the backups, third strings, fourth strings, and beyond taking the field this Thursday night in Wisconsin. Which Chiefs should the Kingdom be watching for as the preseason winds down? Let’s take a looky loo.

ANY TIGHT END WHO WANTS TO STEP UP

All summer long, Chiefs fans have been wondering who would step into that TE2 role. So far, the answer is no one.

Blake Bell was brought in earlier this offseason to fill the void at TE2 and now we’ve seen why he’s on his fourth team in five years. He’s not the most reliable guy at the position. Deon Yelder is also someone vying for the TE2 job, but he’s been injured.

With John Lovett landing on injured reserve, there really isn’t a clear cut guy for that backup tight end spot behind Travis Kelce. The Chiefs very well might have to go out on the free agent market and bring someone in because their current group isn’t making fans feel any better about the depth (or lack thereof) behind Kelce.

Be watching this weekend to see if any tight end can make his presence known in time for the roster cutdown.
