FANTASY FOOTBALL WIDE RECEIVERS TO TARGET IN 2019

NUMBER 17 – BRANDIN COOKS

2018 Standard Scoring: 13th (163.4)

2018 PPR Scoring: 13th (243.2)

Brandin Cooks has been a model of consistency over the past four seasons. Over these four years, Cooks has missed only one game, caught 29 touchdowns, and surpassed 1,000 yards receiving each season.

Having one of your key fantasy players miss games is something that can easily annoy you when managing a fantasy football team. That should be of little concern with Cooks based on his health history.

The two possible concerns that Cooks does have are target competition and a high-powered offense that could take a dip this year.

Cooks will have to fight for targets with Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods who could both also very well make a push for the top 25-30 of fantasy wide receivers along with Cooks. The target shares with the crowded Rams wide receiver core could end up limiting each of their fantasy upsides.

Another big factor that may be slipping past a lot of fantasy players is the effect Todd Gurley has on this entire offense. It has been reported that Gurley has arthritis in his knee. This could cause frequent, recurring injuries which could lead to missed games and/or Gurley being less effective when playing and could negatively impact the entire offense in a worse way than fans are realizing.

Nevertheless, Cooks’ consistent production over the past four seasons cannot be ignored. Cooks could be a solid wide receiver two (or three depending on your draft strategy) to be targeted in the fourth round of your fantasy draft.
