FANTASY FOOTBALL RUNNING BACKS TO TARGET IN 2019

NUMBER 14 – DERRICK HENRY

For the first time in his career, Derrick Henry topped 1,000 yards rushing in 2018, eclipsing the mark by 59 yards. After starting extremely slowly, never topping 58 yards in an outing through the Titans’ first dozen games, Henry exploded to finish the season, including a game against the Jaguars in which he rushed for 238 yards and four touchdowns.

After that, in the season’s final three weeks, he ran for 170 yards and two touchdowns against the Giants; 84 yards and one touchdown against Washington; and for 93 yards against the Colts.

In total, Henry 4.9 yards per carry on 215 attempts, in which he scored 12 touchdowns. Through the air, the 6’3″, 247-pound running back only added 15 receptions for 99 yards. But in perhaps the most ground-and-pound system in the NFL, Henry doesn’t need to add much in the receiving game.

Henry looks to be the team’s bulldog from the get-go in 2019. The Titans also have Dion Lewis, who enters his second season in Tennessee, but he’s more of a receiving threat out of the backfield. Expect the bruising Henry to get the ball early and often for the Titans this season and to expand on one heck of a finish to 2018.
