FANTASY FOOTBALL SLEEPERS TO TARGET IN 2019

NUMBER 13:  HUNTER HENRY

Fantasy football is tough, isn’t it? It means I have to talk good about players on teams that I don’t like, and that means Hunter Henry. As much as I don’t like to, I am going to grit my teeth and talk about just how needed Henry is in the Land of Fantasy.

The tight end position is a mess right now. There is only a handful of sure things at tight end, and if you miss out on one those players, you could be in trouble. Enter Hunter Henry.

Henry missed all of 2018 with injury. Still, he was nearly ready to return for the Chargers late last season, signalling he shouldn’t be considered limited in any fashion going forward.

Henry’s last full season was in 2017 when he caught 45 passes for 579 yards in 14 games. He also added in four receiving touchdowns, and he caught eight in 2016. The Chargers felt good enough about Henry going forward that they chose not to bring back legend Antonio Gates in last year’s offseason (that of course later changed when Henry was injured).

Henry’s average ADP is #62 right now. That puts him squarely at the end of round seven. This could provide huge value to fantasy players. A run on top tier tight end talent (try saying that five times fast) could start as early as the third round.

As soon as someone selects a guy like Travis Kelce, other players tend to panic and players like Zach Ertz, George Kittle, and Jared Cook will be gone as well. This will drop upper talent at other positions down, allowing you to grab a higher end player, and the gobble up a reliable option like Henry in later rounds.

Recommended Target Draft Range: Round 6-7.
