The first year of the Scott Frost Era in Lincoln, Nebraska was a bit of a dud. The Cornhuskers finished 4-8 and only 3-6 in Big Ten play. It was the second straight season Nebraska football finished with such a record.

The 2019 season looks to be different for the Nebraska football team. Scott Frost, now in year two at his alma mater, looks to have a better hold on things after making the transition from the University of Central Florida.

Last year, Nebraska began the season with six straight losses before finishing 4-2 with wins over Minnesota, Illinois and Michigan State. Even the two losses were close: 36-31 on the road against Ohio State and 31-28 on the road against Iowa.

The 2019 edition of the Huskers will more closely resemble last season’s second-half version. Because of that, Nebraska will challenge for the Big Ten West, and if one of two games fall in their favor, the Huskers will even win the division, something that hasn’t happened since 2012.

Like I recently did with the Missouri Tigers, for the rest of this article, I’m taking a dive into Nebraska’s 2019 schedule, making predictions for every game, grouping the slates by month. But where with Mizzou I only compared them to the Georgia Bulldogs, here I predicted every game of the season for all seven Big Ten West teams.

If things fall as I see them, it’s going to be a heck of a race to the finish line for all Big Ten West teams, especially the Huskers.

Let’s get to it.
