Recently, SEC radio host Paul Finebaum stated that Mizzou football is “a legitimate dark horse” in the 2019 season. Their schedule certainly allows that to be an option this year.

The clip in which Paul Finebaum talks about the Missouri Tigers football team can be found here. Finebaum talks about multiple other happenings regarding the Tigers, including the team’s current sanctions, in the clip.

For the purposes of this article, though, I’m going to look into whether Mizzou truly has a shot at being a “legitimate dark horse,” to borrow Finebaum’s phrase, in the 2019 season. That means taking a look at the Tigers schedule by breaking it down by month: August and September (four games), October (four games), and November (four games).

It also means taking a (quicker) look at the Georgia Bulldogs. Because for Mizzou to have a shot at this whole SEC thing, they first have to get back the Bulldogs, a program that has built a solid foundation and winning atmosphere very quickly under head coach Kirby Smart, the former Alabama defensive coordinator.

Let’s jump into it.
