Ultimately, Finebaum is right: Mizzou will indeed be a legitimate dark horse contender in 2019…but one that comes up just short.

More from Missouri Tigers

Still, 10-2 (6-2)? I’ll take that any day of the week, especially from a team led by Odom. And who knows? Maybe the Missouri Tigers will buck the trend and win every game they’re supposed to win, finishing with even more wins.

Regardless, I’m expecting a great season for Mizzou in Kelly Bryant’s sole season on campus. He’ll help solidify Barry Odom as the team’s head coach while lifting up a stellar program downtrodden by sanctions (at least for the time being).

Mizzou won’t sniff double-digit wins unless Bryant lights it up. As he’s one of the most electrifying quarterbacks in the conference, it won’t come as a surprise as he competently duels with the best of them, like in that fateful November 9th game against Jake Fromm.

Dark horse? Yes.

SEC East winner? No.

Successful 2019 season for the Missouri Tigers?

Without question.
