Why Royals fans should vote for Dozier

It’s been a rough season, and I’m not expecting any miracles either for this club or even in the All-Star voting, as 1.5 million is a BIG number to overcome. However, what Dozier is doing at the plate this year is special.

More from Kansas City Royals

Last year, he posted a WAR of negative-0.8 in 102 games. That’s right Dozier was WORSE than a replacement player last season. Yes, he had injuries, but there were many Royals fans who believed that Dozier wouldn’t pan out, especially considering he had just turned 26 last year, a critical time period for a prospect.

Thankfully for Royals fans, he has proven everyone wrong. He’s not only replaced fan favorite Mike Moustakas at third admirably in 2019, but he is posting a season so far that is BETTER than anything Moose did in the Royals Blue and White.

Yes, it’s only half a season, but if he continues this (and a lot of evidence shows that he will) for the remainder of 2019 and beyond, Dozier will prove to the Royal faithful that he was worth the wait as a prospect.

It’s been a tough year for the Royals. However, it would be nice to see Dozier rewarded for his breakout season with an All-Star selection.

He truly has proven to be one of the best offensive third basemen in baseball in 2019, and it would be a shame for a KC kid to be ignored by the “mass media”. Royals have flooded the All-Star ballot before. Let’s see if we can do it again for someone who truly deserves our vote.
