These four players have the best chance at having breakout seasons for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019.

More from Kansas City Chiefs

There are obviously other players that are due for breakout years, but these four have the best chance. Damien Williams already might have “broken out” to some, but he isn’t talked about as much as he should be.

Sammy Watkins is always looped into these “breakout” talks and him making a lot of money is a big reason why he needs to be solid in 2019. Watkins is productive when healthy, but that’s the issue. He hasn’t been healthy throughout most of his career.

The other two breakout choices are on the defensive side of the ball, which Chiefs fans should be thrilled about.

One is rookie Juan Thornhill, who offers versatility in the secondary and will be learning from Tyrann Mathieu. The other defensive breakout candidate is Charvarius Ward, who had a nice resumé in 2018. Can he back it up in 2019 when the lights are brighter?
