We’re far past the days of multiple Royals getting to the All-Star Game, but any of the games listed in this article have a chance at wearing the KC on their hat during the midsummer classic in early July.

Whit Merrifield seems like the obvious choice due to his overall skills as a baseball player. He’s good at everything and would be the perfect option to represent the Royals in the All-Star Game, even if not as a starter. Though, as I mentioned previously, if any Royal ends up starting in the game, it’d be Merrifield for sure.

More from Kansas City Royals

Alex Gordon makes the list due to having a bounce back season and the fact that he’s a well-known name around the league. His experience in two World Series plus being a lifetime Royal could make it hard for him not to be the choice.

Hunter Dozier could be a nice story if he makes it. He’s not a big name in the majors and despite his high batting average, he’s got some stiff competition at third base in the American League.

Adalberto Mondesi’s chances improved once it was announced that Carlos Correa will miss the next month or so due to injury. If he continues to play at the high level he’s playing at now, Mondesi could make it to Cleveland for sure.

Jake Diekman is the best pitcher on the team, but who wants to have a relief pitcher representing them in the All-Star Game? That would be very Royals though.

Lastly, I opted to include Danny Duffy, but it’s highly unlikely that he gets the nod to rep the Royals. He missed the first month of the season and won’t have near the sample size of the other starting pitchers in the American League when the time comes to select the players.

What do you think, Royals fans? Which player do you think will be representing our KC Royals in Cleveland in July?
