The Kansas City Royals might be struggling this year, but it’s been nice seeing these three players prove the fans wrong.

More from Kansas City Royals

Ian Kennedy and Alex Gordon are both making a lot of money, so seeing those contracts finally (somewhat) pay off has been a nice change of pace in 2019. Kennedy might not be in the role the Royals planned for when they gave him all of that cash, but at least he’s contributing and doing his job.

As for Gordon, he’s had a great turnaround. It’s been so great that perhaps 2019 won’t be his last season with the Royals. No one would have expected that sentence to have been uttered a year ago.

Lastly, there’s Hunter Dozier, who has been outstanding this season. His .299 batting average is more than anyone anticipated for the former first round pick, but here he is, kicking butt and taking names.
