The easy joke for this post is “LOL EVERYONE NEEDS TO HAVE A BIG YEAR”, but these players in particular need to step their game up.

More from Kansas City Chiefs

Kendall Fuller and Frank Clark aren’t on this list due to poor 2018 performances, but rather needing to stay consistent in order to help the defense grow. Fuller had a decent season and Clark was obviously good or the Chiefs wouldn’t have given up what they did to bring him to town.

Anthony Hitchens did not have a good year in 2018 and that’s why 2019 is very important for him. He was brought in to help stop the run and didn’t do a great job in that department. For all of the money Hitchens is making, his efforts last year simply aren’t good enough and they won’t be good enough if the Chiefs want to make it to and win a Super Bowl.

The two honorable mentions have gotten lost in the shuffle, but perhaps with a change to a 4-3 scheme on defense, Tanoh Kpassagnon and Breeland Speaks will play more of a role this year. Let’s hope so anyway.
